MEYERSON DALLAS TRIP
The Dallas Symphony & Chorus (including our own Mr. Scott Thompson) will present Carl Orff's Carmina Burana at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas on March 26th at 8:00 PM. The Raider Choir Department is offering tickets for students and chaperones for a reduced rate of $20. There will be no bus transportation for the event and we plan to car pool. Parents who drive will receive a free ticket. Please turn in money for tickets by Friday, March 12th with all checks made to RHS choir. PARIS 2011
The Ryan Choir Department is excited to announce our tour of France Spring break of 2011. A detailed itinerary and trip cost will be available sometime after April 2010, but we anticipate a 9-10 day trip spending most of our time in Paris and a few days on the Normandy coast to visit the Omaha Beach memorial/cemetery. The estimated cost per participant is between $2,000 -$2,500. This price will include all air/ground transportation, hotel, entrance fees, French tour guide and most meals. We are now taking refundable deposits of $200 per participant to reserve space on the trip. Either send your deposit with your choir student or contact the choir department. At this time we have 30 spots available for students and chaperones. All participants will need a valid passport.
MATHIS & BROWNLEE ALL-STATE Congratulations to Seniors Emily Mathis and Tori Brownlee who were named to Texas All-State choirs in auditions Saturday at Abilene Cooper High School. Mathis is 1st chair Alto 1 and is a member of the Texas All-State Mixed Choir. This is Emily's second year to be named to an All-State choir as she sang with the 2009 All-State Treble Choir. Brownlee is 5th Chair Soprano 1 and is a member of the Texas All-State Treble Choir. Congratulations also to Senior Lydia Taylor and Sophomore Bryan Pineda who are All-Area choir members.

Congratulations to Senior Emily Mathis (1st Chair Alto 1), Sophomore Bryan Pineda (1st Chair Tenor 2), Senior Lydia Taylor (4th Chair Soprano 2), and Senior Tori Brownlee (5th Chair Soprano 1) for advancing to the All-Area choir in auditions on Friday, November 20th at Denton High School. These four students will audition for the All-State choir in January at Abilene Cooper High School. Sophomore Piper Johnson was 7th Chair Alto 1 and is second alternate to the All-Area choir. Congratultions and good luck!

May 15th 2008 on the turf practice field at RHS, the Raider Choirs hosted the 2nd annual "Battle of the Note" flag football game. This year, four choir programs participated including: Denton High, Guyer, and Decatur. In the first round the Raiders defeated Denton High by the score of 21 - 16. In the championship game the Ryan Raiders won 27 - 18 over the Decatur Eagles.

PADRE TRIP '08 The Ryan Mixed choir received at Superior rating from all three judges and was named "Best in Class" at the Gulf Coast Music Festival. Congrats to the singers!

VOICE LESSON SIGN-UP Students that are interested in taking voice at RHS should take home the "Voice Lessons" contract and have it signed by your parents. Bring your signed form and a check for the your first lesson ($15) and we will hold a spot for you in the voice studio. Please make checks to Denton ISD.
